QAAF Concludes the Sports Season of 2009-2010 Print E-mail

The QAAF concluded its sports season 2009-2010 by holding a conclusion ceremony on 12/6/2010. During this ceremony, rewarding events were organized in relation to successes achieved in 2009-2010 as well as success of Qatar championships organized last season. The ceremony was attended by QAAF president, Boar Members, sponsors, Diamond League Staffs, media, referees, technical and administrative staffs.

At the beginning of the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al-Zaini welcomed the attending staffs, coaches; athletes press staff, and officials. He thanked the committees and volunteers who assisted in organizing successfully the championships in Qatar. He stressed that the success achieved by QAAF is a direct result of the unlimited support by HH the Emir and HH the Heir Apparent.

Mr. Al-Zaini added that he appreciates especially the efforts done by the QAAF staffs that managed the planning carefully for local and international events. Such efforts by QAAF brought to Qatar many new records in various disciplines of athletics. Achieving such results, indeed, refers to the level of development reached in Qatar athletics scene.  He referred also to remarkable achievements by QAAF officials like Mrs. Mariam Al-Isehaq being the best woman administrator in the current season, and Mr. Abdulhakim the official of referring committees in QAAF and its championships. Mr. Al-Zaini rewarded QAAF members and members of 2009-2010 championship organizing committees, like Diamond League and IAAF Indoor World Championship. Also, some communities’ representatives were rewarded like Belgian and Ethiopian communities in Doha for their remarkable fans attendance.

The QAAF president rewarded Qatar and Al-Rayan Clubs for hosting major athletics events, and rewarded Al-Sadd Club for winning the title of the season in athletics. Aspire was also awarded for the vital role it plays in Qatar Athletics scene.
 
Moreover, Mr. AL-Zaini rewarded Dr. Jabar Al-Kabbi (QAAF technical expert), and Mr. Ahmed Mustafa and Mr. Mohamed Weri, the administrators in QAAF. Besides, the best athletes in each discipline were rewarded for their best performances during the sports season. The ceremony witnessed electronic shows and presentations shedding lights on championships and other QAAF activities.
