Eighty Seven Competitors Representing 11 Countries Competed in 13 Events  

Juniors Challenge Mrakes the Best Rehearsal of the Functional Committees of IAAF World Championship

Aspire dome today witnessed the organization of the Doha Meeting of the indoor athletics as a test event prior to the offcial hosting of the IAAF World Indoor Championship-Doha 2010 during mid of March. The number of participating competitors reached 87 who competed in 13 events (seven for men and 6 for women), representing 11 countries, namely Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Sudan, Syria, UAE and Yemen.


The QAAF persident Mr. Abdullah Al-Zaini the director of the championship said in on this occasion: "The organization of the preparatory test events is a routine procedure in the preparation of major sporting tournaments such as world championships. The test event has helped the organizing committee to focus on the integration of various elements and techniques that should work efficiently during the official championship in Aspire dome " . The attendance was one of the most important elements in this test event. The competitors received their prizes of U.S. $ 1500 for the first rank,  $ 1200 for the second, and $ 1000 for the third in all categories. "

Program: 

 

The program included a morning round started with the 60 m women juniors, 60 m heptathlon- shot put final men juniors,  qualifying 400m men juniors, high jump women juniors heptathlon, as well as an evening roung which began at three PM included - the final of 400 me juniors women, 400 m final men juniors, juniors women long jump final, shot put juniors women hepathlon, high jump finals juniors women, men juniors pole vault final, juniors men 1500 final, 60m hurdles final men juniors, 3000 juniors men final, long jump juniors women heptathlon, final 60m juniors women, final 60m men juniors, 800 m final women juniors, and 800 m women juniors heptathlon.

Qatari Team: Men

 
Qatar was represented in the 3000-meter race by Musab Balla, Mohamed Gomaa, 60m Mohammed Waleed Jassim, Eid Al-Kuwari, Femi Aijudo, 400 m, Abdulrahman Al-Jassem, Abu Bakr Omar Maadibo, Femi Aijudo, the 60-meter hurdles, Salman Sultan Mannai, Mohamed Badr, Uday Fawaz, Saif Sabah,  1500, Hashim Salah Abbas, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Ahmed Gad Abdallah Jamal Hrani, pole vault, shot put Badr Salem Osama Alshabi, Ahmed.

The participation of Qatari women competitors


Qatar participated in the 60 m  by Mabrouka ALmanaie, Nusseibeh Mahjoub, 800-m, Nada Nabil, Hind Abdulla, Marwa Mostafa, Heba Abu Bakr, high jump, Faiza Abu Bakr, Ola Rania Salman, Amina Salman, jump long - Ola Bashir, Samara, heptathlon Fatima Sassani. .

 


QAAF President Al-Zaini Chaired the Technical Meeting:

 
On the other hand Mr. Abdullah Al-Zaini the championship director chaired the technical meeting with Dr. Jabbar Al-Kaabi the technical expert of the QAAF and the technical adviser of the championship with the attendance of the representatives of the 11 participating teams. They have reatified the schedule of the tournament and the names of the participants and discussed the regulations and test evnt. The results attached.
