The Doha Indoor Athletics Meeting for Juniors to be Organized in Aspire Print E-mail

Within the frame of preparations exerted by the Organizing Committee of the IAAF World Indoor Championship-Doha 2010, which will be held in Aspire during March 12 to 14, 2010,  the Doha Indoor Athletics Meeting for Juniors will kick off on Friday, February 26, 2010 where athletics junior competitors gather in a test event named the Doha Meeting prior to hosting the IAAF World Indoor Championships-Doha 2010, in order to showcase the ongoing preparations by the Organizing Committee of this world sporting event  which will start after three weeks in Aspire involving 162 countries, approximately 1278 athletes and administrative and technical support staffs, and 200 international guests from the International Association of Athletics Federations and international sponsoring companies and partners. The athletes who will participate in the Doha Indoor Athletics Meeting for Juniors are from 11 countries: (Kuwait - Bahrain - Oman - United Arab Emirates - Iraq - Jordan - Lebanon - Syria - Yemen - Sudan - Qatar). They will compete in (13 events), including 7 events for men (60m – 60m Hurdles – 400m  - 1500m – 3000m – Pole Vault –Shot Put), and  6 events for women (60m – 400m – 800m - High Jump - Long Jump – Pentathlon). The morning competitions will start at 9 o'clock while the opening ceremony of the evening competitions will start at 3PM lasting for (20 minutes), then followed by the start of the events at 3:30PM. It is worth notice that the program and organizational events in terms of time and steps regarding the Doha Meeting are all set as similar as the program and organizational events of the IAAF World Indoor Championship-Doha 2010. This is to gain more experience and to deal with the championship as smoothly as possible and to reduce and overcome the obstacles and difficulties and problems that might occur.  Below is the timetable of the Doha Meeting 2010:
