AL-SADD TOPS CADETS ATHLETICS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP Print E-mail

The cadets of Al-Sadd club won the title of the Qatar athletics indoor championship for cadets organized during 11-13 January 2010 in Aspire. Al-Sadd remained 2nd in the second day of the competitions but managed to hike up in performance to win the title on the last day of the events with clear difference in total points achieved in comparison to the rest of the participating clubs. The 1st rank was occupied by Al-Saad with (101 points), while Al-Arabi club was ranked 2nd  with (60 points), and Al-Gharafa finalized 3rd with (53 points). Thus, Al-Sadd managed to end at the top of the ranking order of cadets' competitions, as it is the case in the mini-cadets and youth final ranking orders. The championship also witnessed two records; one by Al-Sadd's athlete; Rashid Ali Al-Khelifi (12.76m in Shot-Put), and one by Al-Arabi's Daham Khalid (7.54sec in 60m). Moreover, the girls training center took part in this championship with a considerable number of female athletes. The awarding ceremony at the conclusion of the championship witnessed the attendance of many VIPs and QAAf board members and officials as well as the guest of the championship Mr. Mustafa Abadi (president of Sudan's athletics federation) who submitted the cups to the winners, and Mrs. Mariam Al-Esihaq (the technical observer of the championship).
